Goals and Specific Objectives:
The overall project goal is to implement a multi-level community educational program that promotes awareness, respect, understanding and protective action regarding water and other natural resources. Specific goals and objectives include:
1.
Provide Pennsylvania educators with innovative curriculum/technology to help
them implement the proposed State
Standards for the Environment and the Ecology.
2.
Implement the CAG GIS Project in three middle schools in the Capital Region.
3. Enhance knowledge of the local environment through hands-on participation in data collection, GIS construction, and use of the completed GIS.
4. Ensure public access to the GIS system and utilize a variety of strategies including student presentations and special events to heighten public awareness and inspire action necessary to protect water resources.
