Londonderry’s Afterschool
program is designed to meet the needs of Londonderry School students, from
preschool through 8th grade, who must stay at school past the end of
the school day because their parents are working. We strive to provide a quality licensed afterschool program that
is as “homelike” as possible.
Our Program
Our program provides
teacher and child-planned activities as well as a wide range of free-choice
activities such as art, games, books, dramatic play (puppets, dress-ups),
outdoor games and homework time (if requested). Snack is provided every day and occasionally the children have a
chance to make their own snack. The
staff’s role is to act as a resource, listening ear, and individual support for
the children. Discipline focuses on
logical consequences and inner growth rather than on punishment.
Hours and Fees
The program offers care
for students on a half hour fee basis. Students may attend on an occasional basis, a few days per week, or five
days a week every week. Enrollment varies
considerably day to day and hour to hour, as children are picked up
continuously from 2:45 p.m. on, most leaving by 4:30 p.m., with a handful
attending past 5 p.m.
Fees are $2 per half
hour for any part of the half hour beginning at 3 p.m. All children should be picked up by 5:45
p.m. Late fees will be charged after 6
p.m. Before-school hours (7-8 a.m.)
will be billed at the same rate and will be included on your afterschool
bill. Afterschool fees are billed
monthly.
